September 21, 2012

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Board of Education (MBE) has appointed John Paul Mistilis, a teacher at Oxford High School, to fill an unexpired term on the Commission on School Accreditation. He will complete the 2009-2013 term, replacing Susan Burchfield, who retired.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Mistilis has taught for nine years in public schools in Tate County, Water Valley and Oxford. He currently teaches U.S. history and AP macroeconomics.

The Commission on School Accreditation continually reviews and enforces the accreditation standards and makes recommendations to the MBE.
