Commission on School Accreditation Votes to Postpone Discussion of Greenwood School District

July 22, 2014

JACKSON, Miss. – The Commission on School Accreditation voted today to postpone the discussion of the need to declare a state of emergency in the Greenwood School District to 9 a.m. Thursday, July 31.

The vote followed the Greenwood School District’s request to delay the discussion at least 10 days.

The Commission’s decision allows Greenwood School District to submit a written response to the audit report by the Mississippi Department of Education. During the July 31 meeting, the Commission will determine if an extreme emergency situation exists that jeopardizes the safety, security, and educational interests of the children enrolled in the Greenwood School District.

The meeting will be held in the 4th floor Board Room in the Central High School Building
