Educator Preparation

The Division of Educator Preparation is responsible for ensuring Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs) at Mississippi’s institutions of higher education are producing high quality educators for the state’s K-12 schools.  Specifically, the Division is responsible for designing, coordinating, and conducting process and performance reviews and accreditation visits to ensure EPPs are meeting standards for program approval. Additionally, the Division assists with efforts to attract, recruit, and retain educators for our state.

This website provides information about Title II (Sections 205 through 208) of the Higher Education Act. This website includes secure portals for states and institutions with teacher preparation programs to report Title II data; public access to data about teacher preparation and certification; technical assistance (TA) materials to support the collection, analysis and reporting of Title II data; and contact information for the states and testing companies involved in the Title II data collection process.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (Public Law 110-315) (HEOA) was enacted on August 14, 2008, and reauthorizes the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (the HEA). Click here to access Sections 205 through 208 of Title II of the HEA.
