• Educators with a Standard license may renew their license using college coursework, Continuing Education Units or through the national board certification process.

• Certificates for contact hours or completion will not qualify for Continuing Education Units. Please utilize approved providers for your Continuing Education Units.

Reinstate an Expired License      (and retired educator licenses)

• Professional learning credits or hours earned for the purpose of reinstating an expired license must be completed within the last five-years from the date the completed reinstatement application is received by the Office of Educator Licensure.

National Board Certification RenewalNational

• An educator can renew a standard educator license by completing the initial National Board for Professional Teaching Standards process as well as the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards renewal process.

Uploading CEU certificates

• When uploading CEU certificates, please review the Professional Development page of your MECCA account to ensure all applicable certificates totaling the correct amount of CEU credits for your class type are successfully uploaded prior to submitting your renewal application. 
• Please upload each CEU certificate one time. Duplicate certificates will not be counted towards the renewal of your license and will delay processing your request. 
• For professional development training sponsored by a CEU granting college, university, or community college, please ensure the CEU certificate displays the name of the institution as well as the CEU value as opposed to contact hours.
