MDE to Temporarily Relocate Offices

August 4, 2015

JACKSON, Miss – Due to the damage caused by the Jackson Marriott fire, the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration has directed the Mississippi Department of Education to temporarily relocate all staff who work in the Central High School Building. The move is necessary because it will take several months to complete the extensive repairs needed to the building.

The MDE has secured temporary office space at four locations. The majority of staff have been assigned office space in South Pointe Business Park, 500 Clinton Center Drive, Clinton. Departments assigned to alternate locations include:

  • Special Education, Federal Programs, Conservatorship, and Safe and Orderly Schools: Mississippi School for the Blind (MSB), 1252 Eastover Drive, Jackson
  • Healthy Schools: 500 Greymont Avenue, Jackson
  • Accounting: Woolfolk Building Annex, 501 N. West Street, Jackson

The projected occupancy date for all locations is the week of August 17.

MDE staff with offices in the Central High School Building will continue to work from alternate locations until the move has been completed. During the transition, MDE staff members can be contacted by email.
